Applications for admission to the M. Phil Course in Computer Applications of Statistics 2008-2009 are invited from candidates who have passed M. A/ M. Sc. in Statistics or M. Stat examination with at least 50% marks (those who have appeared in the examination this year are also eligible subject to their meeting requirement at time of admission) and possess some knowledge of Computer Programming. Selection will be based on merit and / or performance in an interview.
Candidates are to apply on a plain sheet of paper stating his / her name and address in full, age, present occupation, details of examination passed beginning from S.F. / H.S. or equivalent (supported by attested copies of mark sheets) clearly indicating the subject to which admission is sought together with a fee of Rs.200 only (non-refundable) to be paid at the University Cash Counter during Cash hours.
Applications sent by post must be accompanied with a Bank Draft on a Calcutta Bank for Rs.200 only payable to Calcutta University. Applications with necessary fees should reach the office of the undersigned on or before 10-12-2008. Candidates, if called for interview before admission, will not be entitled any T.A. / D.A.
